How we came about…

In 2007 Bethany joined a Saturday morning theatre school in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, called “The Hampstead Factory” founded by Laura Whittard. Bethany trained there for a number of years and has since dreamt of opening her own school. Here we are a decade or so later and Bethany Brown’s School of Musical Theatre is ready to open its doors.

“Our Teachers”

Bethany Goodman (Soon to be Mrs Brown!) (Principal and Singing Teacher)

Bethany grew up in Gloucestershire with her family. After studying both GCSES and A LEVELS in music and drama Bethany went on to gain a 1st class BA hons degree in Music and Musical Theatre from The University of Chichester. She has now worked continuously and professionally in the industry for the last 13 years, through TV, film, theatre, radio and concerts. Bethany is the founder  and CEO of “Bethany Brown’s School of Musical theatre ” she will also be one of two teachers teaching Drama as well as being the head of Singing.

Addison Coath (Drama Teacher)

Addison Coath is an international award-winning filmmaker who originally trained in the performing arts with a specialism in acting at the space in Taunton before going on to study film production at the university of Gloucestershire. Throughout the past 5 years his work has screened at over 60 festivals both nationally and internationally including both London and Paris Film Festival. Addison will be one of two teachers teaching Drama within the school.

Darcy Berkley (Dance Teacher)

Darcy is a professional performer, choreographer and teacher, working over the years with Netflix & BBC, starring in & choreographing music videos, dancing in award winning short films, modelling and teaching weekly classes and workshops around Somerset. Darcy has a keen interest in the links between the arts and mental wellbeing which has influenced a lot of her work and lead her to train as a Parkinson’s Dance Science Teacher. Darcy believes dance is for everyone, it’s is a universal language that she hopes to be able to share with everyone.

 

 

Classes are £25 per student (Singing, dancing and drama £25 altogether) All students will need to pay for 4 weeks in advance at the start of each new “term”.
The classes will be split into year groups ;

Year 3-6
Year 7-9
Year 10-13
Bethany Brown’s School of Musical Theatre is based at Holyrood Academy, Zembard Lane, Chard. The lower site Drama Studio comes along side a large car park available to our students and staff. Throughout the morning we will have breaks of approximately 15 minutes for the students to have a drink and toilet break, but we’d also like to suggest that the students bring their own drinks and snacks too.
